Friuli ‘Par Excellence’
Aquileia
The estate
Tenuta Ca' Vescovo
In a position particularly favourable for the cultivation of the vine, between the Carnic Alps and the mild breezes of the upper Adriatic, nature thrives alongside the vineyards set out as gardens. In the lands of the ancient estates of the Patriarchs of Aquileia and the Bishop of Trieste, Tenuta Ca’ Vescovo benefits from a centuries-old history and a pristine vocation for the production of its original Friulian wine.

Aquileia in Friuli
Our winegrowing
region
The sun, the sea breezes of the upper Adriatic and the winds of the Carnic Alps shape our region’s wines.
We are located in Aquileia, in Friuli, an ancient Roman colony and seat of the homonymous Patriarchate. The soils here, composed of clays and gravel that are particularly rich in nutrients and minerals, yield grapes of extraordinary quality: excellence that stems from a millenary winemaking tradition, expertly harvested, vinified and cherished in this area.
This is how wines with great personality, expressive character and unmistakable notes of freshness and flavour are crafted.
This land, located between the Anfora and Aussa rivers, was donated in MXXXVI (1036) by Patriarch Poppone to the Benedictine monastery of Aquileia and for over seven centuries it was reserved for the benefit of the rural communities of San Martino, Terzo and Cervignano del Friuli.
The estate that is home to Ca’ Vescovo, composed of 358 ‘fields’, belonged to Count Antonio Herberstein, Bishop of Trieste. After him, it passed into the hands of Countesses, Princes and Barons, until the present day, which sees Ca’ Vescovo as part of the Ca’ Bolani Estate in Cervignano del Friuli.
